Prior to the release, Click Master generated significant buzz on social media, promoting the song as a celebratory anthem in light of his recent vehicle acquisition, making it a personal expression of gratitude and excitement. Musically, “Sherehe” fuses traditional Bongo Flava elements with his unique Afro Combo rhythm, a distinctive production style that revitalizes the East African urban contemporary sound.

Building on the success of his viral May 2026 single and video “Ngedere,” Click Master leverages “Sherehe” to maintain his momentum, showcasing both his artistic identity and his production prowess behind the music.

Renowned Tanzanian rapper Jay Moe, whose full name is Juma Mohamed Mchopanga, has unveiled a new solo single entitled “40 Bars.” This track represents a genuine Tanzanian Hip-Hop / Bongo Rap release, emphasizing authentic lyricism, storytelling, and a seasoned rap performance.

Officially launched on June 26, 2026, “40 Bars” was made available through “So Famous Entertainment“. The song is devoid of hooks and guest appearances, allowing Jay Moe to fully express an unfiltered hip-hop message.

In “40 Bars,” Jay Moe contemplates themes of survival, fame, loyalty, betrayal, and the enduring journey of maintaining relevance in the music scene. The track embodies an old-school hip-hop vibe, concentrating on real-life experiences and distinguishing between fleeting fame and lasting legacy.

Tanzanian hip-hop artist ZAiiD has unveiled a new single titled “Zuchu,” featuring his collaborator, the Bongo Hip-Hop heavyweight P Mawenge. This track is a hard-hitting Tanzanian Hip-Hop piece characterized by sharp lyrics, powerful beats, and a robust lyrical performance.

Officially launched on July 2, 2026, “Zuchu” merges two distinct rap styles into a single record. ZAiiD showcases a rapid and contemporary flow, while P Mawenge contributes his impressive, commanding voice and seasoned lyrical prowess. This song draws notable parallels to their previous collaboration, “Pisi Kali.”

Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Vanillah has unveiled a new song titled “Mtungi,” featuring Ibraah and produced by Mr T Touch. This song is the concluding piece on Vanillah’s EP, Listen to Me Again.

“Mtungi” acts as the energetic finale of the project, offering a more club-oriented sound in contrast to the softer romantic tracks found on the EP. Crafted by Mr T Touch, the song fuses uptempo Bongo Flava, Afro-pop, and Amapiano-inspired beats.

The term “Mtungi” is a Swahili word that denotes a pot or container, yet in the context of Bongo Flava music, it is often creatively employed to convey emotions, the nightlife experience, intoxication, or the burdens of personal stories.

This track also continues the collaborative synergy between Vanillah and Ibraah, who had previously teamed up on “Hakunaga.” With Ibraah now pursuing a solo career, this collaboration generates additional excitement for enthusiasts of contemporary Tanzanian music.

With this release, Vanillah is steadily gaining traction in anticipation of his upcoming EP, which is also set to include contributions from other prominent artists such as Barakah The Prince and Otile Brown.

AUDIO | Jux Ft. Mbosso – Kipepeo

Tanzanian R&B artist Jux born Juma Mkambala has unveiled a new Bongo Flava single titled “Kipepeo,” featuring Mbosso, a vocalist who formerly signed under WCB Wasafi or the group “Mkubwa Na Wanawe“. This song is a romantic duet that revolves around themes of love, beauty, and profound devotion.

Officially released on June 30, 2026, “Kipepeo” can be found on YouTube as a digital auto-generated track from African Boy Records. The song is published under “African Boy Records”, with Jux recognized as the main author.

The composition of the track was done by Jux and Salmini Maengo (S2kizzy), and Raymond Maziku. Musically, “Kipepeo” features a smooth Bongo Flava / Swahili R&B sound, allowing both Jux and Mbosso to showcase their soft vocals and heartfelt romantic lyrics.

The title “Kipepeo” translates to “Butterfly” in Swahili. In this song, the butterfly symbolizes beauty, attraction, and a love that has completely captivated the heart. It is important to distinguish this track from older songs sharing the same title, such as the classic “Kipepeo” by Jose Chameleone.

Throwback Thursday | Ugly Faces – Wapambe Nuksi

It is Thursday once more, which signifies the arrival of Throwback Music, a moment for us to reminisce about the past filled with memorable melodies. Today, we will highlight the group “Ugly Faces” from Ilala Shariff Shamba in Dar-es-Salaam. This duo comprised two aspiring rappers who were keen to establish their presence in the music industry: Benjamin McDennis Kamtawa, known as Mac D, and Khatibu Amani, referred to as Easy Daz.

Our focus today will be on their debut single, which was recorded at Mawingu Studios in Mwenge, Dar-es-Salaam, under the production and engineering of Boniphace Kilosa, also known as DJ Boniluv.

Released in 1995, the single titled “Wapambe Nuksi” rapidly gained popularity, generating excitement among the youth during their performances at secondary school concerts. Its success was indisputable.

In 1996, they returned to the same studio to record a second single, once again collaborating with DJ Boniluv, after their manager at the time, Richard Mwandemani, also known as DJ Richmaka, secured the necessary funding. This second track, “Chachatika,” further cemented Ugly Faces’ position in the Tanzanian music landscape.

Throwback Thursday | Black Rhyno Ft Fatma – Don Dada

It is yet another Thursday, and you know what that means? It is time for this week’s throwback joint. This track was released 16 years ago and is one of those infectious songs that compels you to nod your head. The track is titled “Don Dada” by the one and only Black Rhyno, featuring Hardmad’s sister, “Fatma“.

Nicholaus Haule, better known by his stage name Black Rhyno or Black Chatta, is a distinguished Tanzanian hip-hop artist, entrepreneur, and former banker. He is highly regarded in East Africa for his musical contributions and has made notable advancements in both business and philanthropic endeavors.

Mandugu Digital

“Don Dada” was produced by Ambrose Dunga, also known as “Mandugu Digital“. He created the beat for the song at Pinnacle Records, and after departing from the label, Black Rhyno recorded the vocals at 41 Records. For mixing and mastering, Dunga teamed up with another talented producer named “Chizan Brain“. Together, they ensured that the project reached its maximum potential.

“Fatma” contributed one of the most memorable hooks of all time to the song, making this track one of my favorites from Black Rhyno’s album titled “Usipime“. This album is available on all major music platforms, including Apple, YouTube, Spotify, and even the East African platform Mdundo. The album features hits such as “Black Chatta“, “Usipime Ft Dully Sykes“, “Usije niacha Ft Chid Beenz“, “Happy Ft Noorah“, and many more.

Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Nandy, affectionately referred to as The African Princess, has made her return with the release of “I Hate That I Love You,” a poignant slow-tempo ballad that delves into themes of love, attachment, and the anguish associated with a toxic relationship.

“I Hate That I Love You” was officially launched on June 12, 2026,and was produced under The African Princess Label and distributed by Ziiki Media. The production credits go to Kimambo Beats, while the songwriting is attributed to Faustina Charles Mfinanga, known professionally as Nandy.

The track examines the internal struggle of loving someone who elicits both joy and emotional turmoil. In her lyrics, Nandy characterizes her partner as both “sugar” and “stress,” illustrating the painful dichotomy of being emotionally tied to someone who continually inflicts hurt.

With its sincere expression, “I Hate That I Love You” encapsulates the challenges of broken trust, unfulfilled promises, and emotional reliance. The narrator confesses that despite her mind’s objections, her heart continues to draw her back, making the song resonate with anyone who finds themselves torn between love and the need for self-preservation.

Kenyan artist Iyanii, whose full name is Ian Oure Okwemba, has made a comeback with a new single titled “Mikono Juu,” a lively Afrobeats dance track intended for celebrations, parties, and joyful experiences.

Officially launched on June 12, 2026, “Mikono Juu” continues Iyanii’s series of energetic releases, following songs such as “Braggadocious,” “Donjo Maber,” and “Kifo Cha Mende.” The title “Mikono Juu” translates from Swahili to “Hands Up,” fostering an atmosphere for a spirited anthem that encourages fans to dance, celebrate, and enjoy the moment.

The song captures the same vibrant spirit that has won Iyanii favor among club and festival attendees, particularly through major hits like “Pombe.” With its captivating rhythm, party-oriented message, and uplifting performance, “Mikono Juu” fits seamlessly into his growing collection of contemporary Kenyan Afrobeats and urban sound.
