Kenyan hip-hop icon Nonini has unveiled his latest track, “RESET,” a compelling collaboration featuring Kitu Sewer, Kachaa, and Michelle Bisonga. This song merges Genge with conscious Hip-Hop, uniting seasoned lyricists with emerging talents.

Accompanied by its music video, “RESET” is part of Nonini’s forthcoming fifth studio album, which is set to launch on October 2, 2026. The video, directed by Willie Owusu, was filmed in various locations across Kenya and the United States, and it was officially released on July 24, 2026.

Thematically centered on “Active Consciousness,” the song tackles social issues, diminishing public voices, systemic injustice, and the duty of artists to authentically represent the streets. Nonini and Kitu Sewer deliver impactful verses, while Kachaa and Michelle Bisonga contribute vibrant vocal elements to the track.

Musically, “RESET” fuses the classic energy of Kenyan hip-hop with a contemporary, refined sound. This collaboration signifies a significant cultural partnership between Nonini, often referred to as the Godfather of Genge, and the esteemed street-conscious poet Kitu Sewer.
