An emerging Tanzanian Hip Hop sensation Mulla Obo, whose real name is Isaya George Mogofi, makes his comeback with a fresh narrative-driven single called “Hasnat.”
The record unfolds a gripping street tale centered on a long-term romance, crossed lines, and a circumstance that spirals into an unexpected and serious legal entanglement.
In “Hasnat,” Mulla Obo narrates the story of a young man who had promised to stay away from a schoolgirl until she finished her education. But things take a sudden twist when she pays him a visit, which ultimately draws the attention of her mother and local authorities.
Even though the girl maintains that nothing occurred between them, the protagonist ends up detained and compelled to deal with the fallout of being discovered in a compromising position.
Using vivid storytelling and streetwise Hip Hop delivery, Mulla Obo transforms “Hasnat” into a warning tale about limits, decisions, temptation, and how rapidly a single choice can alter someone’s life.
