Sharif Saidi Juma, better known as Jay Melody, is one of the few artists with many talents in one person. He is a singer, songwriter, actor, and model all at once. Jay has made a name for himself as a voice of love and deep feelings in Bongo Fleva music. He was born on June 12, 1997, in Dar es Salaam. He started his music journey at a young age, showing his talent through Tanzania House of Talent (THT).

With his new album Addiction, Jay Melody takes fans on an emotional journey. The album has 12 songs, each crafted with skill. Every song tells a different story about love—new feelings, relationship struggles, and heartbreak silenced by pain.

Darassa, whose real name is Sharif Thabit/Thabeet Ramadhan, is a prominent Tanzanian rapper and songwriter celebrated for his exceptional musical abilities and impactful collaborations. His musical career commenced in 2014 with the debut of his first track, ‘Sikati Tamaa,’ featuring Ben Pol. After a brief hiatus in 2015, Darassa made a comeback in 2016 with the successful single ‘Utanipenda,’ featuring Rich Mavoko, along with the notable track ‘Muziki.’ These songs significantly contributed to his rise in popularity. Currently, Darassa serves as the CEO of his own management firm, Classic Music Group (CMG).

One The Incredible (UNO), whose real name is Harry Harrison Kaale, is a hip hop artist, producer, and actor based in Tanzania. He made his debut in November 2009 with the single “The Incredible,” which achieved significant chart success and established his reputation nationwide. During his time with Music Lab, he consistently released singles that garnered him recognition throughout Tanzania and East Africa.

UNO has collaborated with notable artists from Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya, which led to his nomination for the prestigious Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards in 2011, alongside fellow artist Ben Pol.

After signing with Music Lab (M Lab), UNO launched his career with the hit single “The Incredible” in November 2009, followed by “The Incredible Remix,” featuring artists such as Stereo, Izzo Business, and Chidi Benz. He has continued to release projects annually, resulting in four studio albums, numerous mixtapes, and various side projects.

Currently, UNO has released a new single titled “Kitu, under Sheidon Records & CLTRMVMNT” and produced by Q The Don which is said to be the first single for his Fifth Studio Album. This track features the talented singer Mapunch BMB.

“Kitu,” is a swahili word which translates to “Thing“. This track showcases UNO’s lyrical prowess through intricate wordplay and patterns, reminding fans of his exceptional skills on the microphone. Mapunch BMB contributes a captivating hook, setting a strong tone for the new year 2025.

Stonebwoy, the stage name of Livingstone Etse Satekla, born in 1988, is a prominent Ghanaian afropop, dancehall, and reggae artist, as well as the founder of Burniton Music Group. He received the prestigious Artist of the Year award at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

He is widely regarded as one of the foremost Reggae and Dancehall musicians in Ghana. Satekla hails from Ashaiman and began his musical journey during his school years. He attended Methodist Day Secondary School, graduating in the same year as rapper Sarkodie, where he earned his High School Leaving Certificate.

Recently, Stonebwoy unveiled a new single titled “Torcher,” a vibrant track that fuses dancehall, reggae, and Afrobeat elements to produce an engaging and lively tune. Two Tanzanians of Indian descent have unveiled another exciting track for December this year. The artist Papati Twany also known as Papati, alongside the talented producer Akil Mohamed Joosab, also referred to as “Akil The Brain,” has released “Tunawakera,” a Tanzanian hit that highlights Papati’s skills in collaboration with Akil The Brain, who also produced the track.

This song is a vibrant addition to the Tanzanian music scene, celebrated for its catchy melodies and emotive lyrics. The partnership between Papati and Akil The Brain enriches the track, merging their distinct styles to deliver a remarkable musical experience. It is a Bongo Amapiano piece infused with Indian elements, aptly termed “Indopiano,” which was officially released on December 27, 2024.

Following their successful collaborations on “Ayla” and “Mataa,” Papati has delivered another impressive love song, “Tunawakera,” which highlights his braggadocio style and features production by Akil The Brain.
