AUDIO | Kontawa – Itakuaje

Abdu Hamid Said, widely recognized as Kontawa, is a Tanzanian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, model, and brand influencer who released a new single titled “Itakuaje?” on September 2nd, 2026.

This poignant track delves into themes of love, happiness, vulnerability, and the anxiety of losing someone who has become profoundly significant in one’s life.

The term “Itakuaje” translates from Swahili to “what will happen.” In this song, Kontawa encapsulates the uncertainty that can arise even when a relationship appears to be flawless. He ponders whether the affection and sweet words he receives are genuinely heartfelt or if the joy he is experiencing might eventually fade away. The production of this song was handled by ItsGilly.

The track unveils a more tender and vulnerable aspect of Kontawa, juxtaposing his challenging experiences with the solace and love he has discovered in his relationship. Although he relishes this connection, feelings of insecurity and overthinking lead him to question whether he can fully trust his emotions.

At the core of the song lies a straightforward yet profound inquiry: what if the beautiful words being exchanged are not sincere? Through this sense of uncertainty, “Itakuaje” resonates with anyone who has felt the exhilaration of being deeply in love while simultaneously grappling with the fear of potential loss.

He has recently released a single titled “Imeshindikana” from his forthcoming sixth studio album, 31. This track features the romantic hitmaker Jay Melody, showcasing two unique voices from Tanzania’s contemporary music landscape.

Imeshindikana” is a fresh Bongo Fleva song by Tanzanian superstar Harmonize, featuring the talented singer and songwriter Jay Melody.

Released on September 3, 2026, the song is positioned as Track Number 9 on Harmonize’s eagerly awaited studio album, 31 (Swahili Side).

The song “Imeshindikana” unites Harmonize and Jay Melody in an emotional narrative about relationships, focusing on themes of heartbreak, disappointment, and the eventual acceptance that a troubled romance cannot be salvaged.

Throughout the track, the artists contemplate the sacrifices made to sustain love, which include distancing themselves from friends and enduring emotional turmoil for the sake of the relationship. Ultimately, the circumstances reach a stage where it is no longer justifiable to continue fighting for a romance that has consistently brought them pain.

The recurring theme of surrender imbues “Imeshindikana” with its emotional depth, as the singers opt for peace of mind rather than remaining ensnared in a relationship that has repeatedly caused them distress.

With both Harmonize and Jay Melody recognized for their powerful melodic expressions and emotionally resonant songwriting, this collaboration contributes another remarkable moment to Harmonize’s 31 (Swahili Side) album.
