Tanzanian music icon Ferooz, whose full name is Feruzi Mrisho Rehani, has made a comeback with a new Bongo Flava audio single titled “Msobe Msobe.”

Officially launched on June 15, 2026, “Msobe Msobe” represents another significant addition to the discography of one of the pioneering voices that contributed to the formative years of Tanzanian Bongo Flava. The song embodies a traditional Bongo Flava essence, merging melodic narratives with contemporary Tanzanian beats.

Ferooz is fondly remembered as a former member of Daz Nundaz, a prominent group in the annals of Tanzania’s music scene. He is also celebrated for his timeless tracks such as “Starehe feat Professor Jay“, “Maji Ya Shingo” and “Kamanda,” which established him as a leading figure in the early 2000s. He also did a hook for “Nikusaidije” by Professor Jay. This was one of those golden hooks of all time by Ferooz.

His inaugural solo album, Safari, released in 2004, is regarded as one of the landmark projects in the history of Bongo Flava. With “Msobe Msobe,” Ferooz continues to demonstrate his enduring impact, re-establishing connections with long-time fans through the sound and storytelling that solidified his reputation in Tanzanian music.
